A study has been published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology looking at an assessment of exposure to particle pollution around 22  municipal waste incinerators. Authors Include Dr Philippa Douglas, Dr Rebecca Ghosh, Dr Mireille Toledano, Professor Paul Elliott, Dr Gary Fuller and Dr Anna Hansell.  This paper is part of a wider study investigating reproductive and infant health near municipal waste incinerators in Great Britain.

 

The assessment used real-world measurements of pollution coming from the chimney of each incinerator to predict  the impact on the surrounding area, following the same method as our more limited 2013 study (Ashworth et al. 2013 https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jeph/2013/560342/).
